This paper presents a simple first order model for a boost DC-DC converter under current-mode control operating in continuous-conduction mode but in the chaotic regime. It is shown that the dynamics of the converter is very well described by the model if the chaotic behavior is taken into account when computing averaged values. A very simple integral controller is also designed to stabilize the output voltage without suppressing chaos.
