Biography:
Prof. Alexandres received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Telecommunications (1985,1991) both, by Technical University of Madrid. During these years, Prof. Alexandres has been involved in education and research related with digital systems, signal processing topics, communications area (wireless, ATM and telephony) for voice and video systems, as well as director of young scientist working on Ph.D. Thesis. Currently is responsible of Digital and System Area and head of Electronics and Automatics Group (GEA) at Research and Technology Institute (IIT), Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Since 1991, he collaborates with the academic support group within the Spanish special Action of the CEC (GAME-EUROPRACTICE). In this area he currently works on the design of complex ASIC's for data communications and real time digital video processing, in collaboration with European and Spanish companies. During last 8 years he has been working with VLSI CAD-Tools, CADENCE, Design Framework II, Epoch, Cascade, Synopsys, Verilog In 1996 he worked at EE Department of University of Pennsylvania, US as Visiting Professor in collaboration with Professors Magda El Zarki and Jan Van der Spiegel on VLSI and ASICs for Telecommunications.
