Ignacio Herrero is Research Assistant at the Energy Regulation and Economics area at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT) of Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Power Systems. His current research focuses on the development of modeling tools to support the analysis of electricity markets design, with the aim of improving the efficiency of clearing and pricing rules in a context of increasing penetration of renewables and demand response solutions. He is Teaching Assistant of the course “Regulation of the electric power industry” led by Prof. Carlos Batlle. He obtained the Official Master's Degree in Research in Engineering Systems Modeling in 2016, and an Electrical Engineering Degree in June 2014, from ICAI School of Engineering.
