The forum on Global Climate Strategies beyond 2012 will take place in the city of Madrid, Spain, at the headquarters of the Energy Regulatory Commision (c/ Alcalá 47, 28014 Madrid). MAP

The building where the headquarters of the Spanish Energy Regulatory Commission (CNE) are presently located dates back from the nineteenth century. It was designed by Narciso Pascual y Colomer, a classic architect within the Romantic style, who had a prominent role in the construction of numerous official and nobility buildings for the court of Queen Elisabeth II.

The building, in the most distinguished part of downtown Madrid, was lately acquired by the marquis of Urquijo, who turned it into his bank central-office. It was restored by the CNE and inaugurated on July 2003 by His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias.

The venue will be in Madrid, on April 11-13, 2007. All technical sessions will take place at the Headquarters of the Spanish Energy Regulatory Commission, 47 Alcalá Street, Madrid (MAP). Most participants will stay at the Hotel Intercontinental, 49 Paseo de la Castellana, Madrid (MAP). Both places are at less than 10 minutes by taxi. Buses of the organization will take the participants from the Hotel Intercontinental to the technical sessions and back, leaving from the hotel in the morning at 8:15 am (Wednesday 11) and 8:00 (Thursday 12 and Friday 13). On Thursday 12, buses will leave at 19:30 from the Intercontinental Hotel to take participants to El Prado Museum.
